Sundays at Mt Hermon
Sunday School – 9:45 am
We offer a regular adult Sunday School class taught by members of our congregation in the classroom in the Fellowship Hall building. We also offer a Sunday School class for children at the same time in the children’s classroom in the same building.
Holy Communion Service – 11:00 am
Our service is a traditional, liturgical service following the liturgy found in the Lutheran Book of Worship (Green Book). We try to incorporate both classic and modern hymns into our worship while remaining reverent and worshipful. We celebrate Communion every week. We offer a Children’s Sermon every week and invite children and youth of all ages to join with us in worship. There is a playroom in the back of the Nave for younger children so that they can play while you worship.
What to Expect:
Our congregation is very informal, regardless of the liturgy we use to worship. We operate by the rule, “All can, some should, none are required.” So, if you want to dress informally, go for it. If you feel more comfortable in a suit or dress, that’s fine too. If you want to raise hands during worship, that is acceptable, and if you’d rather not that’s okay. There are different parts of the worship where bowing or crossing oneself in remembrance of your baptism is appropriate, but it isn’t required. The important part is that you come, put your focus upon Jesus Christ and what He has done for us, receive His gifts of Word and Sacrament, and worship accordingly.
